SONG BIO
'Understand' is a song about coming to terms with watching a friend self-destruct. The frustration of realising the warning signs were there when given the benefit of hindsight. Could I have done more or is it possible to save somebody when they fall into this mode? Fiachra Treacy
lyrics
You couldn’t understand your thoughts
You begged them to sit down and talk
You said your head’s surrounded
Inevitable you’d be caught
Had I understood then
What I understand now
Acceptance from your peers you sought
The pages are tearing
The ripping is scaring you down
But you’re staying around
Had I understood then
What I understand now
In the grey area of doubt
This is where I can be found
You couldn’t understand your thoughts
The pages are tearing, the ripping is scaring, the road that goes under grows longer and longer, you’ve run out of stations and no one has patience for you
Had I understood then
What I understand now
In the grey area of doubt
This is where I can be found
You saw it all
You wanted more
You pushed the boat away from shore
Everyone else follows behind
There is no distance to divide
Gather your thoughts
Your head in sand
You took the flight that never lands
Cold decisions make the man
You always had a different plan
Wonderful to see Irish musicians putting out something as fresh as this, even if Bitch Falcon's influences are front and centre. The album is a fantastic mix of shoegaze and grunge (and even dream pop if I may be so bold), and it all comes together in one tight, thoroughly enjoyable package. derringerhk
Incredible album. I'm so happy how "Little Green Cars" evolved into Soda Blonde, and extremely pleased that Faye O'Rourke is at the forefront of vocals with her fantastic, captivating voice. Such a moving album, and the underlying themes really presenting a sort of isolation and general feeling of being upset in a relationship, in my interpretation. Why do I love this record? it has a haunting sound with a destination. The vocals are very sweet and the riffs hook you in . The songs have a great momentem they begin at once place then end some other place and don't go in a circle . if that makes sense? jimmyfuc
